In this fast-paced, give more day and age, sometimes you just need that settled, relaxed, be your true self, come home feeling. That’s exactly what Van Winkle & the Spirits offers in its Americana music.
The Local Honeys are Kentucky and Kentucky runs through their veins like an unbridled racehorse. When a master songsmith like Tom T Hall calls an artist “a great credit to a wonderful Kentucky tradition” it’s time to pull up a chair and pay attention.
All Bad, the latest album from Nick Shoulders, ultimately encapsulates everything that makes Shoulders’ inimitable form of country music so vital: a heady balance of dazzling musicianship and punk defiance, coupled with gritty eccentricity and a generational connection to the roots of the genre.
"Norro Wilson was one of the great music men, not just of our time, but all time. He taught me so much about soul, and songs, and what it means to touch someone's life with music."

The festival’s moniker honors hometown celebrity Norro Wilson, influential singer, songwriter, producer, “song-plugger,” and record executive. Wilson was instrumental in the careers of Reba McEntire, Kenny Chesney, and Shania Twain, while heavy-hitters like George Jones, Tammy Wynette, and Charlie Rich recorded songs penned by Norro. A member of the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, the Allen County native was included in the Country Music Hall of Fame’s “Poets and Prophets” series in 2011.
